GazeFix processes video of people's faces, so we've tried to write this plainly rather than hide behind boilerplate. If anything here is unclear, email us and we'll explain it.

Who we are

GazeFix is an AI eye-contact correction service operated by GazeFix, based in Australia. For questions about this policy or your data, contact sahil@gazefix.com.

What we collect

Account details. Your email address, and a password stored only as a one-way hash — we can't read it or recover it. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address from Google and never see a password at all.

Your video. The files you upload and the corrected versions we produce, along with their duration and file name.

Usage and billing records. Your credit balance and a ledger of how credits were granted and spent, plus a record of each correction job and whether it succeeded.

Payments. Handled entirely by Stripe. We store a payment reference so we can grant your credits — never your card number.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your video to train any model.

How your video is processed

This is the part worth reading carefully. When you submit a video, it is uploaded to our storage and then transmitted to NVIDIA, whose Maxine service performs the gaze correction and returns the result. Your video therefore leaves our systems in the course of being processed.

Corrected files are stored privately. Download links are short-lived and signed, expiring after 24 hours, so your footage is never publicly browsable.

Who else processes your data

We use the following providers. Each only receives what it needs to do its job.

ProviderWhat it doesWhere
NVIDIARuns the gaze-correction model. Your video is transmitted to NVIDIA's Maxine service for processing and returned to us.United States
Amazon Web Services (S3)Stores uploaded and corrected video files.Frankfurt, Germany (eu-central-1)
RailwayHosts the application and its database.Amsterdam, Netherlands (EU West)
StripeProcesses payments. Card details are entered on Stripe's systems and are never seen or stored by us.United States and Ireland
ResendDelivers account emails such as address verification and password resets.United States
GoogleProvides optional Google sign-in. If you use it, Google confirms your email address to us.United States
MailerLiteStores waitlist signups from the marketing site.European Union

Some of these are outside the EU and UK. Where that applies, transfers rely on the provider's standard contractual clauses.

Where your data is stored

Your account, job records and video files are stored in the European Union — the database in Amsterdam and video files in Frankfurt.

How long we keep it

Account details and your credit ledger are kept for as long as your account exists, since credits never expire and the ledger is what proves your balance.

Video files are kept until you ask us to delete them or you close your account. We are working towards automatic deletion of uploads once a correction finishes; until then, email us if you want a file removed sooner and we'll do it.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, and to complain to your data protection authority.

Email sahil@gazefix.com and we'll action it within 30 days. There is no charge.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Video files are stored privately and are only reachable through expiring signed links. No system is perfectly secure, but we don't store anything we don't need.

Cookies and local storage

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The app stores a sign-in token in your browser's local storage so you stay logged in; clearing your browser data signs you out.

Children

GazeFix isn't intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has an account, email us and we'll remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and for anything significant we'll email account holders rather than change it quietly.
